Surinaamse gemeenschap

For a long time, the main missionaries in Suriname have been the Redemptorist Fathers.

In Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk we have the relics of the holy Father Peerke Donders, Redemptorist, who spent his life in Suriname taking care of the sick and especially lepers.

Pastor Gerard Meershoek took care of the pastorate of the Surinamese Community from the Church of Our Lady for 30 years.
